Vedic Remedies
वैदिक उपाय
These sacred remedies honour Lord Vishnu's preserving grace and the Moon's receptive wisdom, deepening Shravana's innate listening quality and balancing its emotional sensitivity with the clarity and groundedness of Vishnu's cosmic perspective.
Mantra
ॐ विष्णवे नमः
Om Vishnave Namah
Recite 108 times daily, especially on Mondays and Ekadashi. For the Moon: Om Shram Shrim Shraum Sah Chandraya Namah, 108 times on Mondays at moonrise. The Vishnu Sahasranama, the thousand names of Lord Vishnu, recited or heard on Ekadashi days is the supreme Shravana spiritual practice.
Deity Worship
Lord Vishnu, The Great Preserver of Cosmic Order
Offer Tulsi leaves, yellow flowers, and panchamrit (five sacred nectars) to Vishnu. Visit Vishnu temples on Ekadashi. Recite Vishnu Sahasranama. On Shravana Nakshatra days, sit in silence for 22 minutes facing north, listening for the divine voice beneath the noise of the world.
Gemstone
Natural Pearl (Moti) for the Moon
Natural (not cultured) pearl, set in silver, worn on the ring or little finger of the right hand on a Monday morning during Shukla Paksha after proper purification and Moon-energising rituals.
⚠ Pearl must be natural, unbleached, and internally flawless for astrological benefit. The Moon's placement in the individual chart must be carefully assessed. Moonstone is an accessible alternative. Consult Pt. Dr. Pankaj Madhav before wearing.
Yantra
Vishnu Yantra or Chandra (Moon) Yantra, energised on a Monday during the waxing Moon. Place in the north or north-east of the home or meditation space.
Charitable Acts
- ✦Donate white foods, milk, white rice, white sesame, coconut, on Mondays
- ✦Support education and scholarship for deserving students
- ✦Donate musical instruments to schools, temples, or community programmes
- ✦Offer water (jal tarpana) to ancestors on the new Moon
- ✦Contribute to preservation of ancient texts, oral traditions, or sacred libraries
Fasting
Monday fasting (Somavar Vrat) in honour of the Moon. Ekadashi fasting in devotion to Lord Vishnu, the most sacred fast in the Vaishnava tradition. The entire month of Shravana (July–August) is especially auspicious for Vishnu worship and simplified living.
Colors
White, silver, and pale blue, the colours of the Moon, purity, and Vishnu's infinite sky. Wear white on Mondays and important days. Avoid harsh, aggressive colours that disturb the Shravana listening quality.
