Spiritual Path & Dharma
आध्यात्मिक पथ
Mula's spiritual path is the path of radical investigation, the Jnana Yoga of going all the way to the root of consciousness itself, dissolving every temporary structure of identification until what remains is the indestructible foundation of being.
Spiritual Purpose
Mula's deepest purpose is liberation through root-investigation, discovering through the direct examination of experience that the self one has been protecting, the identity one has been building, the story one has been telling about who one is, are all temporary structures grown above the real root. And that when those structures are dissolved, by Nirriti's grace, by Ketu's detachment, by the Mula native's fearless going-to-the-source, what remains is not nothing but the indestructible root of awareness itself.
◈ Karmic Lessons
Soul Assignments
- ✦The root that cannot be dissolved is who you actually are, find it
- ✦Nirriti breaks the bonds of illusion so that you can discover the bond that cannot be broken
- ✦Your destructive power is sacred when it dissolves the false, be sure of what is false before dissolving
- ✦The galactic center is your source, you carry its gravity wherever you go
- ✦Investigation without attachment is Ketu's gift, use it for liberation, not just knowledge
Jnana Yoga, The Path of Radical Inquiry
The Vedantic practice of neti neti, 'not this, not this', is the quintessential Mula spiritual practice. It proceeds exactly as Mula's investigative drive proceeds in all domains: by going beneath each apparent answer to the question beneath it, beneath each identity to the awareness that observes it, beneath each thought to the silence from which it arises. Ramana Maharshi, possibly Mula's most perfect spiritual expression, taught this investigation as the direct path: Who am I? Go to the source of the question itself.
Working with Nirriti, Conscious Dissolution
The highest Mula spiritual practice is learning to work consciously with Nirriti's dissolving power, to become the one who wisely releases what is ready to be released, rather than the one in whom dissolution happens unconsciously. This means developing discernment: What genuinely needs to be dissolved? What is being dissolved prematurely? What is the permanent root that dissolution cannot touch? As Mula natives develop this discernment, Nirriti's power becomes the most liberating of all divine gifts.
Mantra for Spiritual Growth
ॐ मूलाय नमः
Om Mulaaya Namah
108 repetitions at sunrise on Tuesdays, facing South. For liberation practice, combine with the Ketu Beej Mantra and the practice of neti neti meditation during the dark moon. The Kali Chalisa and Nirriti invocations from the Atharva Veda are the deepest scriptural practices for Mula.
