∞ Mythology

Stories & Deity Wisdom

Soma, Mrigashira's presiding deity, is one of the most ancient and revered figures of the Rigveda. He is the lord of the Moon, the keeper of divine nectar (amrita), and the inspirer of poets and seers. The myth most associated with Mrigashira tells of Prajapati (Brahma) pursuing his own daughter Rohini in the form of a deer, an act of cosmic transgression. The gods, horrified, appointed Rudra as their archer to shoot the deer-Prajapati with a flaming arrow. The deer fled into the sky and became the constellation Mrigashira, eternally frozen in flight, the arrow of Rudra just behind. This myth speaks to Mrigashira's essential nature: always moving, always seeking, always just ahead of what pursues them.

♃ Career

Work & Profession

Mrigashira excels in research, communication and creative fields. Natural vocations include writing and journalism, research and investigation, travel and exploration, teaching and academia, fashion and textile design (Taurus influence), music and poetry (Soma's nectar of inspiration), psychology and counselling, and all fields requiring sharp perception and communication. Their Mars rulership gives surprising drive beneath the gentle surface.

⊕ Health

Body & Wellness

Mrigashira governs the chin, cheeks, and throat region. Common tendencies include nervous system sensitivity, anxiety and restlessness, throat and respiratory issues, and digestive irregularity from erratic eating habits. The deer's nervous energy translates as hypersensitivity to environment. Regular grounding practices, time in nature, and consistent routine help balance Mrigashira's airy restlessness.
