Sankhya Gola Yoga

संख्या गोल योग
All 7 planets in 1 House only
Classical Reference
01
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Chapter 36, Sloka 91-92 (paraphrased):
When all 7 planets are confined to only one house in the entire chart, with no planets in any other house, the native becomes destitute, illiterate, wicked, miserable, and ever wandering. This pattern is called Sankhya Gola (Cluster/Concentration) Yoga.
Definition
02
All 7 planets (Sun to Saturn – traditional 7, excluding Rahu/Ketu for this count) are confined to only one house in the entire chart. No planet is placed in any other house. All 7 planets occupy the same single house (which could be any house from 1 to 12). Rahu and Ketu may be placed anywhere (or may also be in the same house, but traditionally not counted for the 7-planet condition).
Understanding the Pattern
03
This is the maximum possible concentration of planets
All 7 planets are in a single house – no planets anywhere else
This creates an extreme focus on the affairs of that one house
However, all other houses (11 houses) are completely empty
This yoga is extremely rare in practice
Understanding the Pattern
04
All 7 traditional planets in one single house (any house 1-12)
No planet in the other 11 houses
All 7 planets occupy the same house
Rahu and Ketu may be anywhere (not counted for the 7-planet condition)
Effects
05
1Destitute (extremely poor, lacking basic necessities, homeless)
2Illiterate (uneducated, lacking knowledge, unable to read/write)
3Wicked (evil-natured, cruel, harmful to others)
4Miserable (always in distress, unhappy, suffering)
5Ever wandering (constantly moving, homeless, restless, never settled)

7th HouseLibraSun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn
All 7 planets are only in one single house – hence Sankhya Gola Yoga is fully formed.
Important Notes
07
The name "Sankhya Gola" means cluster/concentration – all planets in one group
This is one of the most extreme and inauspicious yogas in Vedic astrology
Destitute – because 11 empty houses mean no support from wealth (2nd), home (4th), gains (11th), etc.
Illiterate – lack of planets in 2nd (speech), 4th (knowledge from home), 5th (intelligence) – all empty
Wicked – all planets concentrated in one house creates extreme pressure; without balancing influences, the nature becomes cruel
Miserable – no planetary support for happiness (4th, 9th, 11th empty)
Ever wandering – strong 3rd (travel) or 12th (foreign) if that house contains all planets; otherwise, general restlessness due to no roots
Variations

11 empty houses mean no planetary support for 11 areas of life
All energy is compressed into one area – creates extreme pressure and imbalance
The native cannot access the diversity of life experiences
The house containing all planets becomes overwhelming and pathological
Hence: destitute, illiterate, wicked, miserable, ever wandering
Modern Interpretation
11
Destitute – homeless, living in extreme poverty, or chronic financial crisis
Illiterate – no formal education, unable to read/write, or lacks basic knowledge
Wicked – criminal tendencies, antisocial behavior, or extreme cruelty
Miserable – suffers from depression, anxiety, or constant unhappiness
Ever wandering – homeless drifter, constantly moving cities, or unable to settle
