Akriti Dhanush (Chapa) Yoga

आकृति धनुष (चाप) योग
Houses 10–4 (Continuous, Wrapping)
Classical Reference
01
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Chapter 36, Sloka 69-70 (paraphrased):
When all planets continuously occupy houses 10 to 4 (houses 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, and 4, with no empty houses in between, and no planets outside this range), the native becomes brave, a jailer, proud, skilled in archery, a thief, a wanderer, and happy in the middle portion of life. This pattern is called Dhanush (Bow) Yoga.
Definition
02
All planets (Sun to Saturn, plus Rahu/Ketu if considered) continuously occupy houses 10 to 4 – i.e., they are placed only in houses 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, and
Understanding the Pattern
03
This yoga wraps around the chart – from 10th house upwards through 11,12,1,2,3, and back to 4th
"Continuous" means no empty houses between 10 and 4 (through the top of the chart and around Lagna)
Every house from 10th to 4th (10,11,12,1,2,3,4) must contain at least one planet
Houses 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 must be completely empty
This creates a continuous arc from the 10th house, across the top and left side of the chart, to the 4th house
Understanding the Pattern
04
All planets in 10th, 11th, 12th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th houses only
No planet in 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th houses
Every house from 10 to 4 must have at least one planet
Planets may be distributed among these 7 houses in any combination
Effects
05
1Brave (courageous, fearless, heroic)
2Jailer (works in prison, law enforcement, or keeps others confined)
3Proud (arrogant, self-respecting, dignified to a fault)
4Skilled in archery (expert in weapons, shooting, or precision-based arts)
5Thief (steals, dishonest, takes what belongs to others)
6Wanderer (constantly moving, restless, never settled in one place)
7Happy in the middle portion of his/her life (middle age is the best period; early and old age may have struggles)
